AK Metadaten-PIDs

The "AK Metadaten-PIDs" (Arbeitskreis Metadaten und Persistente Identifikatoren) is a joint working group of HMC Hub Earth and Environment and DataHub that focuses on Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) to promote and establish their use in data infrastructures.

To achieve this, methods and procedures that PID systems use are discussed, and roles and responsibilities for maintaining the data in the PID datasets are defined.

The outcome of these discussions should be recommendations precisely describing implementation procedures for the usage of PIDs.

The unambiguous use of PIDs and thus their added value in the context of metadata management is promoted through content and technical coordination and through joint definitions with this working group.
