The Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration (HMC) promotes the qualitative enrichment of research data through metadata and implements this approach across the entire organization.
Together with Helmholtz's data management and data science units, HMC develops and implements novel concepts and technologies for sustainable handling of research data through high-quality metadata. Its main goal is to make the depth and breadth of research data produced by Helmholtz Centres findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR) for the entire science community.
To achieve this, common standards of practice in data handling need to be discussed, developed, and implemented into the data infrastructures of various research communities. This platform aims to serve as an information hub, allowing projects and working groups to organize themselves, exchange information, prepare meetings, and collect documents related to their work.
