The Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration (HMC) promotes the qualitative enrichment of research data by means of metadata – and implements this approach across the whole organization.
Togehter with Helmholtz' data management and data science units HMC develops and implements novel concepts and technologies for a sustainable handling of research data through high-quality metadata. Its main goal is to make the depth and breadth of research data produced by Helmholtz Centres findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR) for the whole science community.
To achieve this, common standards of practice in data handling need to be discussed, developed, and implemented into the data infrastructures of the various research communites. This platform aims to serve as a information hub, to allow projects and working groups to organize themselves, exchange information, prepare meetings, and collect documents related to their work.
